NCAA Basketball Betting Lines

03/08/2007 - Las Cruces, NM (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Marcelus Kemp scored 14 points and dished out three assists, and 10th-ranked Nevada rolled over Idaho, 88-56, in the quarterfinals of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament at the Pan American Center.

David Ellis had 11 points, and senior Nick Fazekas chipped in with 10 points and 10 rebounds for top-seeded Nevada (28-3), which has won the tourney two of the last three years. Kyle Shiloh added 12 points for the Wolf Pack, who will be back on the floor on Friday to face the winner of the Hawaii-Utah State contest in the semifinals.

David Jackson scored a team-high 17 points for Idaho (4-27), which defeated San Jose State 50-49 in Tuesday's play-in game, snapping a 12-game losing streak and giving the squad its first-ever WAC tourney win.

Keoni Watson, who hit the game-winner against San Jose State with just 1.3 seconds remaining, had 15 points and six rebounds for the Vandals.

Nevada coasted from the start, as the Vandals missed their first three shots, had a pair of turnovers and didn't score until Watson's trey at 17:28. By that time, Idaho trailed 9-3.

The Wolf Pack continued to pull away, opening a 14-5 cushion with just over 16 minutes to play in the half. It was 28-10 on Fazekas' jumper at 11:58, and a pair of free throws by Kemp with under five minutes remaining gave the Wolf Pack a 41-21 lead.

Nevada closed the half on a 12-2 run, and led 49-24 at intermission. The Vandals shot just 32 percent in the opening 20 minutes, while the Wolf Pack made 59 percent of their shots.

The Vandals came out stronger in the second half, using a 6-2 mini spurt to close the gap to 55-28 at the 18 minute mark.

The Wolf Pack, though, responded and built a 68-37 edge, as Kemp ran off seven straight points on a three-point shot, a layup and a pair from the charity stripe at 11:59.

Idaho never made it close down the stretch and trailed by 29 with 3 1/2 minutes to play.
