Jankovic, Dementieva advance; Ivanovic ousted in Tokyo
Tennis Betting Lines
09/18/2008 - Tokyo, Japan (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Top-seeded Jelena Jankovic and Olympic champion Elena Dementieva breezed into the quarterfinals, while former world No. 1 Ana Ivanovic suffered a second-round setback Thursday at the $1.34 million Pan Pacific Open.
Russian Nadia Petrova upended the second-seeded Ivanovic 6-1, 1-6, 6-2 on Day 4 at Ariake Colosseum.
Since winning the French Open in June, the Australian Open runner-up Ivanovic, of Serbia, is a pedestrian 4-4, including a shock second-round ouster by little-known Frenchwoman Julie Coin last month at the U.S. Open, which marked her last match before Thursday's loss.
The U.S. Open runner-up Jankovic, of Serbia, destroyed Italian Flavia Pennetta 6-2, 6-1 in 61 minutes, while a third-seeded Dementieva needed just 69 minutes to dispose of France's Alize Cornet 6-0, 6-3.
With the win, Dementieva joined Jankovic, American Serena Williams, fellow Russian Dinara Safina and Ivanovic in qualifying for the season-ending Sony Ericsson Championships, where the world's top-eight players will compete in Doha, Qatar, from November 4-9.
"One of my goals has always been to get as close as possible to the top and to make it to the Sony Ericsson Championships," said Dementieva. "Making it to Doha just shows me that I've been doing a few things right this season, so I am just very happy about my qualification. I have played very well all year and I will certainly try my best to finish the season on a high note."
Dementieva titled here in 2006.
Meanwhile, fifth-seeded Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova destroyed wild card Ayumi Morita of Japan 6-1, 6-1 and sixth-seeded Pole Agnieszka Radwanska had little trouble with France's Marion Bartoli, winning 6-2, 6-3.
In other second-round action, Slovenian qualifier Katarina Srebotnik handled Italian Francesca Schiavone 6-4, 6-3 and Estonian qualifier Kaia Kanepi leveled France's Virginie Razzano 6-4, 6-2.
Friday's quarterfinals will pit Jankovic against Kuznetsova, Dementieva versus Srebotnik, a fourth-seeded Safina against Kanepi, and Radwanska versus Petrova. The rising Safina was this year's French Open and Olympic runner-up.
The 2008 champion at this Tier I hardcourt tournament will collect $196,900.

Super Bowl XLIII Betting - Super Bowl 2009
Super Bowl 2009, the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers.Let’s take a look at the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds and the betting line and figure out where they’ve been and where they are going to go.
MySportsbook.com put up the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds late on Sunday night with the Pittsburgh Steelers favored by 6.5 points and a total betting line at 47.5 points.
Since then, however, the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds have seen a good deal of movement and you’ll want to be on top of where they are likely to move to make sure you get the best line value for the big game.
Since opening, the Super Bowl 2009 betting lines went to Steelers -7 in the span of roughly 3 hours but were quickly bought back down just minutes later to 6.5 again.
After that is took about 5-6 more hours before the betting line went back to -7 where it has sat for a while now and is likely to remain. The opening betting total of 47.5 was bet down right after the line became available and went to 47 within minutes.
Roughly a day later it has been bet even further down to the 46.5 tally it currently is set at.
Roughly 60% of gamblers seem to be on the Cardinals here so the point spread will be bet down and a 7.5 would not last very long at all with many taking the early 6.5 in hopes of finding a potential middle in the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds.
If you like Arizona and see a 7.5, I’d take it as soon as possible because it’s unlikely to last. For Pittsburgh backers, the -7 might be the best you’ll be able to find but a 6.5 is definitely possible close to game time.
Regarding the Super Bowl 2009 betting odds for the total, most tracked gamblers are already on the over and with those who took the under 47.5 already securing a middle on the over 46.5, the only way I see it moving is back up to 47 so if you like the over, I’d recommend betting now.
